After a lull of over 530 days from October 7th 2023, when Hamas had launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood that shook Israeli occupation forces, the Palestinian resistance in Gaza launched a counter-attack on March 20th 2025. Palestinian resistance sources informed that Al-Qassam Brigades have bombarded the Israeli capital city, Tel Aviv, deep inside the occupied territories with a barrage of “Maqadma” M90 rockets in “response to the zionist massacres against civilians”.
According to Palestinian resistance, three long-range M90 rockets were launched by the Al-Qassam Brigades on Thursday. “This launch is the resistance’s first response to the zionist entity’s violation of the ceasefire, which resulted over 710 martyrs in the last three days. It also comes after the IOF’s renewed ground invasion into Beit Lahia this morning, and the failure of the mediators and the world to curb the IOF’s aggression (sic),” the resistance statement said.
Palestinian resistance’s missiles intersect Yemeni missiles
One of the unique features of the Palestinian resistance’s counter-attack is that it coincided with the Yemeni missile attack targeting occupied territories.
“Today, Yemen’s missiles intersected with those from Gaza in the skies above ‘Tel Aviv’, confirming that Gaza is not alone, and that behind it are the free men of the nation who will not surrender it to their arrogant enemies,” Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Obeida said in a statement on Thursday.
In its statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces claimed, “In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in response to the massacres committed by the criminal zionist enemy against our brothers in the Gaza Strip, the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a qualitative military operation targeting “Ben Gurion Airport” in occupied Yafa using a hypersonic ballistic missile of the “Palestine-2” type. By the grace of Allah, the operation successfully achieved its objective.”
The Yemeni Armed Forces claimed two such successful attacks in a span of 24 hours.
US-Israeli nexus continues attacking three countries
In the meantime, the US-Israel nexus has been launching attacks on Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen.
Israel’s heavy artillery shelling has been targeting the Gaza Strip in northwestern Beit Lahia. The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacks coincide with the occupation’s announcement to begin their ground invasion of Shabboura camp in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, the Palestinian resistance alleged.
At the same time, US warplanes have also renewed their targeting in Yemen, this time carrying out an air raid on Saada, raising the number of US attacks on Yemen to at least 20 in just 24 hours, Yemeni resistance claimed.
In Lebanon, several IOF raids were carried out, according to the resistance. An IOF airstrike targeted the heights surrounding the town of Nabichit in the eastern mountain range, while another targeted the vicinity of Shmistar, west of Baalbek. Additionally, Israeli warplanes targeted the outskirts of Jbaa in Iqlim Al-Tuffah in southern Lebanon.
The Palestinian counter-attack, backed by Yemeni missile strikes, highlights that despite the joint attack on them by the US and Israel, and despite suffering immense setbacks in 2024, the Axis of Resistance isn’t in a mood to surrender but to continue its act of resistance against the Zionist entity.
By killing over 700 civilians within three days of its renewed attacks on Gaza amid the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, Israel has clarified that it doesn’t want a ceasefire or an end to the conflict.
Rather, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government seems to be assisting US President Donald Trump in occupying Gaza and turning it into a real estate haven for the multi-billionaire, far-right politician.
Palestinian resistance remains steadfast
While the US has been attempting to destroy the Houthi rebels’ capabilities to strike Israel as well as maritime traffic of the Zionist forces passing through the Red Sea, the Yemenis have hit the USS Harry Truman on the Red Sea, forcing it to retreat.
In its statement, the Yemeni forces said, “The operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces supporting Gaza will not cease as long as the American aggression persists. These operations, along with the enforced blockade on ‘israeli’ maritime navigation, will continue until the aggression against Gaza is halted and the siege is lifted.”
Highlighting the resistance’s resolve to carry out Gaza’s counter-attacks, Palestinian resistance organisation Hamas has called for Palestinians to unite across Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi said, “The Palestinian people will remain a unified body, and the occupation’s attempts and its mechanisms will not succeed in tearing it apart. The occupation’s dangerous plans do not exclude any of the Palestinians and it aims to liquidate their cause and displace them.”
“We call on our people in the West Bank to be loyal to Gaza and to gather for dawn prayers on Friday under the slogan ‘Dawn of Support for Gaza’,” he added.
“Our people in the West Bank will prove, by all means and methods, that they are loyal to their people who are facing an ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip,” Mr Mardawi further added.
Meanwhile, the Marxist-Leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has also issued a call for fierce resistance against the US and Mr Trump’s regime.
“We call on all free forces in America to escalate the confrontation against the American participation in the genocide war,” the PFLP said in its statement issued on March 20th.
“Criminal Trump’s support for the aggression on Gaza is further confirmation of direct US partnership in the genocide of our people,” it claimed.
“The White House’s announcement of US President and war criminal Donald Trump’s full support for what ‘israel’ is carrying out in Gaza is a blatant acknowledgment of direct and active American involvement in the genocide against our people in Gaza,” the organisation said.
It further highlighted that, “The US position comes as no surprise; the United States is the head of global terrorism, with a history drenched in the genocide of millions of Indigenous peoples and its criminal wars that have destroyed and annihilated free and oppressed nations worldwide.”
It called the US “a full partner in the escalating criminal aggression against Gaza” in its statement on Thursday.
“The Front calls upon all free and active forces, along with solidarity networks with our people inside the United States, to escalate actions against these criminal policies and to continue pressuring the criminal US administration to halt its unconditional support for the occupation and its ongoing genocidal war against our people,” the organisation added.
As the Israel-US nexus intensifies the multi-pronged attacks on the people of Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Yemen, the Palestinian, especially Gaza’s, counter-attacks have shown that the resistance organisations are not going to give up and the situation will escalate in the days to come.
